Akuma Sports announce partnership with Bucks Student Union

Akuma Sports are very excited to be partnering up with Bucks Student Union of Buckinghamshire New University.

Buckinghamshire New University, styled BNU, is a public university with campuses in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire; Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire; Uxbridge, Greater London; and Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire.

“Sport has always been an important part of the University experience and we encourage as many students as possible to take part by joining any of our clubs. When the Big Deal was introduced 12 years ago it broke down one of the biggest barriers to students taking part in sport, cost! Thanks to the Big deal, taking part in sport is free and this led to more students taking part in sport, than ever before. Over the years we have had a number of successes from the Futsal team winning the National Cup, to our Ladies Basketball team, winning their league and cup for 2 successive years.

One of the things we are most looking forward to is the turnaround time from ordering the items to delivery.

Akuma is closely aligned with The Students Unions sustainability goals which is evident through Akuma using recycled polyester on 95% of the garments ordered. There is also clear messaging about their upcoming environmental plans stating by 2021 all Akuma’s playing wear will be manufactured using 100% recycled fabrics. This was key in our decision making process.

Akuma were easy to work with and we immediately liked the design they came up with. Quick to respond to any changes what can be quite challenging turned out to the one of the easier aspects of the process.” – Catherine Lymer, Student Activities Manager
